“Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens.” Psalm 68:19
Is it going to be one of those days? You know, the kind where you lay in your bed because you can’t cope with everything happening in your life. The kind where you won’t eat because you’re “not” hungry, but really you just don’t have an appetite. Or is it the kind where you force yourself to get up and make coffee and eat a bowl of cereal?
Recovery is key when dealing with anxiety and depression, too. Sometimes the rest is needed, but sometimes it’s too much to bear. I am currently laying in my bed listening to the rain pour on my roof. A panic attack is exhausting, yes. Battling a war in the mind is also exhausting, yes. But how so do we have the strength to go moving forward?
We aren’t the ones whose burdens we bear ourselves. We have a God who has already taken care of those burdens. As the water rises in the storm we can say we are safe; we are protected.
It won’t be “just another day” because I am determined to make it so. Even as life throws curve balls my way, God says “Your burdens are mine. Let them go.”
Get up. Make that cup of coffee and eat something.
The day is only beginning.
